WATCH: Sebastián Yatra Fan Steals Kiss From Him at Last Tour Stop — & Yes, It’s Awkward
Singer Sebastián Yatra was a bit startled during a recent concert when one of his female fans decided to give the Latin pop star something he wasn’t expecting and didn’t sign up for.
During his final show while on tour with Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin, Yatra went up to a woman in the crowd at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and started serenading while she recorded them both on her cell phone.
As Yatra sang, the woman looked right into the camera and yelled, “That’s my friend.” She pointed to Yatra while her arm rested comfortably on his shoulder. After letting out a grito, she turned to Yatra and stared straight into his face for a couple of seconds before her hand cupped his face.
Before Yatra knew what’s happening, she pulled him toward her and planted a kiss on the “Oye” singer’s lips, which caused him to smile uncomfortably and drop his jaw in surprise. The woman then proceeded to rustle her hand in his hair like she was giving a kid an “atta-boy” for making an A on his math test.
Yatra posted the encounter on his Instagram account. “It’s been a while since they’ve stolen a kiss from me,” he wrote. The video has been seen almost two million times.
Maybe the woman remembered that Yatra collaborated with fellow singer Carlos Vives on the 2017 song “Robarte un Beso” (“Steal a Kiss from You”) and took it as an invitation to swipe a smooch. It’s probably a good thing she didn’t think of Yatra’s other song, “Atado Entre Tus Manos,” or things could’ve gotten even more awkward.
Either way, when you’re at a concert, it’s always a good policy to keep your hands and your mouth to yourself. Or maybe just in life, especially when it comes to someone else’s bodily autonomy and respecting that.
