WATCH: Cardi B Reps The Bronx On ‘Shake It’ Collab With Kay Flock

It’s been a good week for Cardi B fans! From the kid-friendly video release of “The Seaweed Sway” to being featured on Kay Flock’s rap track “Shake It” alongside Bronx MCs Dougie B and Bory300 out today (April 15) – the half-Dominican rapper is showing her artistic diversity and owning it.

“FREE KAY FLOCK FREE DOUGIE B S/O @therealbory300 New York and all the DJs thank you soooo much for the support on the record already,” Cardi B posted on an Instagram post announcing ‘Shake It.’ “Everybody tag me when yall spinnin this sh*t. Bronx stand tf up!!!”

Cardi B is not only known for her catchy rap verses but she’s also known to deliver a fashion statement. Sporting the iconic 2000s red bandana trend on her hair, Cardi B appears in the “Shake It” video quickly captivating the scene when her rap feature comes on. The music video mainly focuses on the artists vibing with a hyped-out crowd outside a deli market, but the obvious stand-out is when Cardi B delivers her take on Brooklyn’s famed drill scene. Sampling the 2005 Akon hit “Bananza (Belly Dancer),” the track’s commanding verses brings the drill scene to the mainstream. We need more of this Cardi B on her new album!

Fans on Twitter are thrilled by the release of “Shake It,” wanting more of this sound from the rapper.

Apart from this release, La Cardi is also in the headlines this week for announcing her newborn baby boy’s name, Wave, in a recent interview. In the same article, she revealed that she is working on new music for her upcoming album and that she is continuing to film her Meta series, Cardi Tries. What can we expect from the new album? We can start off by hoping there are more drill beats like this one!
