WATCH: Bizarrap Goes Regional Mexican With Peso Pluma on “Music Sessions #55”

Sad boy season is still in session. On May 31, Bizarrap released his newest feature, “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 55,” with the skyrocketing Mexican talent Peso Pluma. The result of two of today’s hottest creative masterminds? A fresh take on a regional Mexican-inspired beat paired with Peso’s deep lyrics about a lost love.

“Let’s go all out today brother!! @pesopluma,” the Argentinian producer wrote on an Instagram story. “I was very very very happy making this song. I’m excited for it to come out today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.” To further hype the song’s countdown, he also posted the first sketch he drew for the stop-motion teaser that was made for the collab’s announcement.

In “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 55,” Bizarrap holds back his signature electronic sounds and explores more of Peso Pluma’s popular música mexicana instruments. Like Peso Pluma’s latest single, “Bye,” this collaboration also narrates the result of a broken heart. To relay his sorrow, he croons: “Le hablé a otra morrita al deducir que te perdí / Y ya no hay más / Cosas que contigo quiero hablar / Con otra piel yo te vo’a olvidar / De mi mente yo te vo’a sacar [I spoke to another girl when I realized that I lost you / And there are no more / Things I want to talk to you about / With someone else’s skin I’ll forget you / I’ll take you out of my mind],” making it clear that he’s done with his ex-lover once and for all. Towards the end of the video, Biza sprinkles in the electronic sounds we recognize him for, giving it a signature touch.

“BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 55” follows Bizarrap’s collaboration with Arcángel. Before that, he dropped “BZRP Music Sessions #53” with Shakira, arguably one of the producer’s biggest hits to date. The collaboration broke records and made history. It became the most-viewed Latine track on YouTube in 24 hours, the most-streamed Latine track on Spotify in 24 hours, and the quickest Latine track to reach 100 million views on YouTube. Will Peso Pluma override the viral collab’s success?
