Thanks to his uplifting energy, 70s style, and smooth moves, Canadian dancer and content creator Donté Colley has quickly risen to social media stardom over the past two years. When he’s not posting viral TikToks, Colley is busy with the stars, appearing in Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet’s “Monopoly” video, Doja Cat’s “Say So”, and creating content for Will Smith’s Facebook series, Bucket List.
Now, in a new short film, titled Dazed POV with Donté Colley, the dancer brings us along with him for a day spent wandering around Toronto. Created in partnership by Pandora and directed by Ryan Faist, the video sees Colley thrift at his favourite local charity shop, grab a slice of plant-based pizza, and peruse greenery at a plant warehouse. “It’s never a dull moment in the city, there’s always something happening,” he says in the film.
Colley is one of the faces of Pandora’s ME campaign, which is dedicated to embracing individualism, self expression, and personal style, all while creating a sense of belonging and community. Throughout the video, Colley tops off his green trousers, grey hoodie, Bottega Veneta boots, and Telfar tote with Pandora ME’s silver Link Chain necklace, Freshwater Cultured pearl bracelet, Hoop Link earrings, and layered-up ME rings.
Meanwhile, he shares thoughts on social media, growing up in Toronto, and expressing himself through fashion. “Style and dressing up, being able to express yourself with the jewellery that you wear, and all of the things that you’ve got going on,” says Conelly, while sifting through a clothing rail. “I think that’s what we need to stop being so afraid of now; just expressing yourself more.”
