Timothée Chalamet Makes a Case For the High Fashion Hoodie

It’s no secret that Timothée Chalamet is a fashion guy. The actor styles himself for red carpet appearances and has proven time and time again that he has a high style IQ, wearing sleek Haider Ackermann suits or a Louis Vuitton harness that broke the Internet. Off-duty, his fashion sense is more relatable and low-key (he’s a jeans-and-a-tee kind of guy). This weekend in New York City, Chalamet hit the streets in a piece that proved, yes, casual wear can still be super stylish.

Turns out, Chalamet is a loud-and-proud Celine boy. The actor stepped out in a bright orange hoodie by the French label, which is currently spearheaded by Hedi Slimane. Instead of leaning into Slimane’s signature rocker-chic look, however, Chalamet opted for a more relaxed fit. He styled the statement hoodie with green track pants, white low-tops, and an Elara cap. (Elara Pictures is a production company that has produced films such as Uncut Gems and more; it’s founded by Emily Ratajkowski’s husband, Sebastian Bear McClard).

While one could literally roll out of bed in Chalamet's hoodie, it’s also a smart piece to own. It’s a hero piece that allows one to be comfy while still proving you’re in the know. A quick peruse on the site shows Celine is selling the hoodies in a bunch of different colors (they retail for $690), and other fashion labels also have their own take on logo’d sweaters as well, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, and more. So, is the It hoodie the new It bag? That’s so 2020.
