TikTok It Boy Noah Beck Reviews the Louis Vuitton Men’s Show
If you’re on TikTok, you know about Noah Beck: He’s one of the app’s biggest stars, currently armed with more than 24 million followers. Before skyrocketing to social media fame (his account started to take off in the middle of 2020), Beck was on track to play soccer in college, but now he’s turned content creation into his full-time gig. He’s known for his dancing or lip-synching videos, which always hit over 1 million likes. Much of his appeal, of course, lies in his boy-next-door charm, which has gained him many fan pages.
This week, Beck also reached a new milestone when he was invited as a VIP guest to watch the new fall 2021 Louis Vuitton menswear show, presented virtually yesterday. “It’s crazy to think I went from wearing gym shorts and tees 80% of the time when I was playing soccer, to now working with some of the hottest luxury brands and being invited to Fashion Week,” Beck says.
Just as bloggers started filling the front row in the late aughts, TikTok stars are the new fashion darlings. Charli D’Amelio, the most-followed star on TikTok with over 106 million followers, went to the Prada show in Milan back in February 2020, when IRL shows were still happening. (Beck is dating her sister, Dixie D’Amelio). Wisdom Kaye is now an IMG model, and Noen Eubanks has even scored a Celine campaign. Beck, along with his pal Josh Richards, is the latest to make a high-profile runway debut, even if he normally has a relaxed approach to style.
As a fan of the label’s creative director, Virgil Abloh, Beck couldn’t think of a more perfect introduction to the world of runway. “L.V. is a brand I’ve long admired,” Beck says. “I was pumped to see what Virgil would come up with for the show; he’s a fashion icon of mine.” Beck shares that one of his first designer purchases was, in fact, a Louis Vuitton wallet. “I also have a bracelet, an awesome jacket, and I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the new L.V. trainers by Virgil, which aren’t even out yet,” he says. Beck says he wants to showcase more of his elevated style on TikTok going forward: “People are used to seeing me in workout clothes or shirtless, but I really love styling a look that’s refined yet comfortable, and always with a cool pair of sneakers from my growing collection.”
Even though the Vuitton presentation yesterday was virtual, it didn’t stop Beck from going all out for the affair, either. He dressed up in a total look by Vuitton to tune in from home in L.A. It was elevated cozywear, and consisted of a patterned sweater layered over a white button-down, a Damier bomber jacket, black pants, and chunky sneakers. “Obviously, I would have loved to be in Paris for the show,” Beck says. “The energy in Paris and around Fashion Week is crazy, and it would have been my first time there.”
Overall, Beck loved the new collection and can see himself rocking it. “The whole show was brilliant,” says Beck. “From the airplane invitation invoking the desire to travel to the way Virgil incorporated poetry, dance, and music.” After watching the show, the busy day wasn’t over for Beck, either. “I had to do a self-tape for acting, dial in for a few Zoom meetings, and filmed content for TikTok. You can pack a lot of things in when you’re not running from show to show!”
Below, Beck reviews seven of his favorite looks from the show—maybe you’ll even spy some of the looks on TikTok.
