Thalia, Ana Gabriel & More To Be Honored at Billboard’s Mujeres Latinas En La Música Event

Billboard is launching a new event to honor iconic women in Latine music. Today (Apr. 7), Thalia, Ana Gabriel, Natti Natasha, Goyo, and more were announced as the first honorees for Billboard’s Mujeres Latinas En La Música.

The two-hour music special will celebrate female artists, executives, and creatives who are creating positive change for women in the Latine music industry. The event will be hosted by Jaqueline Bracamontes and Ivy Queen, who received the Icon Award from Bad Bunny last month at Billboard’s Women In Music Awards. Billboard’s Mujeres Latinas En La Música will take place on May 6.

“Our Latin Women In Music gala is a bold and inspiring event,” Leila Cobo, Billboard’s chief content officer for Latin/Español, said in a statement. “Our honorees come from vastly diverse places, generations, styles, genres and philosophies, but all have excellence, commitment and unique and uncompromising artistry and points of view. In this landmark year for Latin music, we are so proud to launch our newest tentpole, where we will celebrate outstanding, powerful, leading women yearly.”

Mexican icon Ana Gabriel will be recognized with the Living Legend Award for her nearly five decades of hits. Mexican pop superstar Thalia will also be honored with an award.

Hailing from Colombia, Goyo will be another inaugural honoree by Billboard’s Mujeres Latinas En La Música. She has shined with Latin Grammy-winning group ChocQuibTown as well as a solo artist with her En Letra de Otro album. Dominican superstar Natti Natasha will also be honored with an award, as well as rising Argentine pop star Emilia and Venezuelan-American singer Evaluna, daughter of Ricardo Montaner.

Billboard’s Mujeres Latinas En La Música will air live from Watsco Center in Miami, FL. The event will be taped on Saturday, May 6, 2023, and air on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 9 p.m. EST on Telemundo and Universo.
