Snow Tha Product & More Latine Artists Are Part of Youtube’s Foundry Class of 2022

On July 26, Youtube announced its Foundry Class of 2022, embracing 30 independent artists to its global artist development program. Out of these 30, six artists are Latine.

This year, the Foundry Class artists represent 15 countries. The Latine artists that were chosen are: the Mexican-American rapper Snow Tha Product, the Mexican rapper Yoss Bones, the Brazilian duo ÀVUÀ, the Mexican artist Bruses, the Colombian singer-songwriter Jossman, and the Brazilian artist Kaike.

“It’s no small task to be an artist in 2022, working to find stability, fulfillment, and fans who get it. Foundry celebrates the courage of independent artists and the communities that surround them,” YouTube Artist Partnerships Lead, Naomi Zeichner, said in a written statement. “Our global team is lucky to be their champion and reduce barriers on their journey, every step of the way.”

Per the press release, Foundry’s main goal is to help artists build a foundation for growth, engagement and global success from day one. To this date, they have supported 250 independent artists. Their alumni roster includes artists like Natanael Cano, Omar Apollo, Eladio Carrion, and Blessd, to name a few.

According to the press release, Cano shared his experience with Foundry in 2020: “For me, it meant an opportunity of which I’m very grateful with YouTube and with my fans to make it possible and to help push forward corridos tumbados, that we still want to take globally. Foundry helped corridos tumbados to be more known on a global level and to take the Mexican flag to the most important stages all over the world.”

The Colombian emerging artist Blessd also shared his anecdote from 2021 in the written statement: “To have a support like YouTube Foundry is something big, it is truly to support independent artists that are working hard to make it big. This program helped me get to know the platform better, in order to get to a massive audience, which YouTube has.”
