Singer-Songwriter Denae Explores Mental Health Issues And More In EP Titled ‘My Dark Place’
Talented pop-rap singer-songwriter Tayler Denae, better known under her stage name Denae has just unveiled a new collection of songs under the form of an EP titled My Dark Place. This record sees the young emerging artist explore mental health issues with brutal honesty.
No newcomer to the game, her previous projects, Gioto and Shui & Denae, have amassed over 5M streams on Spotify alone. Today, she begins a new chapter of her artistic life with this solo EP. Sonically, she has concocted a mixture of hard-hitting electronic beats and lyrical pop/rap, a sophisticated combination that proves its special chemistry throughout the tracklist.
The versatile Denae is strong on contrasts, with a capacity of completely changing the mood when alternating between ethereal vocals and rapping, a tour de force few can master with that level of perfection. The flawless production never strains for effect and sustains its dark intensity from start to finish.
She’s been making music since she was 8 years old, and explains: “I grew up writing everything and anything, it was my way of escaping my crazy childhood… It’s funny though because my music isn’t really an escape anymore, it just feels like a way to make sense of everything.”
Denae’s My Dark Place is set to help her cement her rise as a prominent artist with a lot of meaningful messages to share with her exponentially growing audience.
