Silvestre Dangond, Carín León & More: Vote for the Best New Latin Music This Week

This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features fresh new music, including albums by Luck Ra (Que Sed), Gepe (Undesastre Deluxe: Cerodrama) and Arthur Hanlon (2 Manos, 1 Mundo).

Plus, Silvestre Dangond and Carín León team up for their hypnotizing new collaboration “Cosas Sencillas,” powered by vallenato’s signature accordion melodies, which was recorded after the two met serendipitously at the Festival Vallenato in Valledupar, Colombia last year.

“I’m really happy to sing with Carín; he is a unique artist, and from the very beginning, I knew this collaboration would be special,” Dangond said in a statement. “I truly enjoyed singing this song, traveling to Hermosillo to film the video, and experiencing this journey together.” León added, “I’ve loved vallenato since I was a kid; it has been a significant influence in my hometown. In Sonora, many local bands and wind ensembles have made great vallenato covers, and I’ve always been drawn to its essence and emotion.”

Elsewhere, Rauw Alejandro formally debuts his new single, “Carita Linda,” a love letter to his beloved Puerto Rico. The star first sang the new track during his Cosa Nuestra Tour stop in Seattle on April 5. Other new releases this week in our playlist include Christian Nodal’s, “Amé,” Prince Royce’s “How Deep Is Your Love,” Aaron Piper’s “Pirata Especial” and Alejo’s “[[Chipo]],” among others.
