Romeo Santos Cements Release Date for ‘Formula, Vol. 3’ — Here’s The Announcement

It’s official: What was once a goal date is now the decided release date. Romeo Santos has cemented the release date for his next album. The Bachata superstar will drop the hotly-anticipated Formula, Vol. 3 next month — 8 years after his Vol. 2.

It’s been two years since Santos released his last album, Utopía. For his next LP, he will be continuing his famous Formula series with Vol. 3 coming out on Sept. 1. Santos posted a teaser of the album to Instagram. The video teaser features a crown, which signifies that he will be reclaiming his title as the King of Bachata once again. A new song also plays in the background of the clip.

On his last Formula albums, Santos has brought in global superstars into his bachata world. In 2011’s Vol. 1, Usher featured on “Promise,” and Lil Wayne jumped on “All Aboard.” With 2014’s Vol. 2, Nicki Minaj joined forces with Santos for “Animales.” It will be interesting to see what music star he teams up with for the next volume.

Santos started to tease Formula, Vol. 3 on Valentine’s Day with the release of “Sus Huellas.” In the music video for the sultry song, he sang it while sitting in a bathtub. The voice of Santos’ son Valentino confirms in the video that his dad is indeed “The King.” The music video has amassed over 44 million views on YouTube to date.

There’s been plenty of excitement online since Santos announced the release date for Formula, Vol. 3. One fan on Twitter wrote, “Romeo Santos is dropping an album next month. LETSSS GOOOOOO.” Another fan wrote, “The only thing to make my day better!! Romeo Santos, drop them tour dates papi because I’m ready for you!!”

With a new album dropping next month, maybe Santos can make our dreams come true and be one of the headliners at next year’s Coachella music festival. Last month, he appeared on The Today Show to perform a medley of hits, so he’s ready to return to the stage.
