Rauw Alejandro Unites Latine Powerhouses on ‘Cosa Nuestra’ with Feid, Latin Mafia & More
Puerto Rican superstar Rauw Alejandro is gearing up to make waves with his latest album, Cosa Nuestra, a star-studded project that highlights Latine music’s biggest names. With the album dropping on November 15, Rauw has revealed a lineup that promises to be both nostalgic and groundbreaking. His recent Instagram announcement showcased the collaborators, referencing each by their real names, a nod to the authenticity he’s embracing in this project.
Rauw began teasing Cosa Nuestra in May, releasing the cinematic video for “Touching the Sky” and announcing a return to his Puerto Rican roots. He then began using his real name, Raúl Alejandro, to emphasize this new direction. In September, he appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards channeling the iconic Puerto Rican salsa legend Héctor Lavoe, complete with bomba musicians and dancers—a tribute to his heritage and a fitting precursor to the Cosa Nuestra era.
With his collaborators’ real names on the tracklist, Rauw draws a parallel to the 1970s, giving the album a timeless feel. Highlights include “Que Pasaría,” a track with none other than Bad Bunny, promising to blend both artists’ iconic reggaeton sounds. Another powerhouse collaboration, “Revolú,” will feature Feid, another major figure in reggaeton, while Romeo Santos, the king of bachata, joins him on the intriguing track “Khé?” This song is anticipated to merge reggaeton and bachata, a fusion that could bring fans of both genres together in a fresh way.
One of the album’s standout moments comes in the form of a cover. Rauw performed “Se Fue” by Italian icon Laura Pausini at the Latin Grammy Awards last year, and now, the track will be included on Cosa Nuestra with Pausini herself joining him. The album showcases a blend of emerging and established talent, exemplified by Latin Mafia, rising Mexican stars, who will feature on “2:12 AM,” and the legendary Pharrell Williams, who joins Rauw on “Committed,” an unexpected but exciting addition to the project.
Another nostalgic collaboration includes Alexis y Fido, reggaeton veterans, who will appear on “Baja Pa’ Acá,” marking a return for the duo. Additional contributions from Marconi Impara and Yan Block on “Espresso Martini” add even more depth to Cosa Nuestra, showing Rauw’s commitment to mixing genres and influences.
Set for release just a day after the Latin Grammy Awards on November 14, where Rauw is nominated for Best Reggaeton Performance for his track “Byak” with Álvaro Díaz, Cosa Nuestra is positioned to captivate fans worldwide. With this album, Rauw Alejandro is not only paying homage to his roots but also pushing the boundaries of Latine music, crafting a project that promises both familiarity and innovation. The release of Cosa Nuestra marks a new chapter in Rauw’s career—one that reflects the power of collaboration, heritage, and genre fusion in today’s music landscape.
