Rauw Alejandro Confirms Breakup With Rosalía & Addresses Cheating Rumors
News of Rauw Alejandro and Rosalía’s breakup and cheating allegations left their fans in shock. After the story broke out yesterday (July 25), social media users even tried to piece together the former couple’s timeline. Today (July 26), the Puerto Rican artist finally spoke out about the situation.
“During all these years you have been part of my professional achievements, as well as all the happy moments I have lived through as a couple. I never saw myself in the position of even thinking that I would have to make a public statement about this very private matter for me,” he wrote online.
In his post, he confirmed his engagement with Rosalía is over and dispelled the cheating allegations circulating online. “There are thousands of problems that can cause a breakup, but in our case, it was not because of third parties or infidelity,” he noted. “During this time that I am taking to assimilate all this, erroneous public allegations have arisen, and because of the respect that I have for her, for our families, and for everything that we lived, I could not remain silent and continue to see how people are trying to destroy the most real story of love that God has allowed me to live.” He closed the message by saying that he loves his fans and thanked them for being there for him.
The news broke out when PEOPLE exclusively announced that the artists ended their engagement after three years of being together. “Sources say that despite the love and respect the singers have for one another, they have both agreed to end their engagement,” the publication wrote.
In March, the ex-couple announced their engagement through their joint music video “BESO.” The romantic single became the first single out of three tracks from their EP RR. That same month, Rauw brought out the Spanish singer-songwriter to sing two of their collaborations live in Puerto Rico. The following month at Coachella, Rosalía shared the stage with Rauw. “You know, tonight is very special for me,” she told the crowd at the time. “Because four years ago, I came to Coachella, and I came alone. But this time, I’m no longer alone.”
Rosalía has yet to comment publicly on the situation.
