Rauw Alejandro & Ángel Dior are Hosting a Barber Shop Pop-Up in Santo Domingo
Rauw Alejandro’s finally bringing his Saturno era to life in the Dominican Republic. To celebrate the world tour’s start and his newest collaboration with Ángel Dior, his team is opening up a “Saturno Barber Shop” pop-up with free goodies like helados and empanadas in Villa Francisca, Santo Domingo on Feb. 17.
The popup is set to start at 5 p.m. at Villa Francisca, one of the oldest working-class neighborhoods in Santo Domingo. Not only will this pop-up hype up Rauw’s latest single, “TAMO EN NOTA,” alongside the up-and-coming Dominican rapper Ángel Dior, it will also hype up those who are attending his upcoming Saturno tour date, which is tomorrow (Feb. 18) at the Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo.
In case you missed it, “TAMO EN NOTA” is a surprise dembow-infused collaboration that the two aforementioned Caribbean artists dropped earlier this week. Its popularity has already garnered the eccentric music video over 3 million views on YouTube since its premiere on Feb. 13.
Moving forward, Rauw’s Saturno World Tour with the hip-hop dance group JABBAWOCKEEZ will hit the U.S. starting on Mar. 4 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL, and wrap up on May 6 at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA. The tour will also visit other major cities like Miami, FL; Brooklyn, NY; Rosemont (Chicago), IL; El Paso, TX; and Inglewood (Los Angeles), CA. It will then embark on its first Latin American leg.
Could it be that there will be more surprise pop-up action throughout his tour in major cities? Though we don’t know for sure, we do know that it’s becoming a common celebration fan experience amongst artists. Recently, Rosalía’s team set up a chewing gum pop-up and art mural in Los Angeles, CA, to celebrate her “Bizcochito Remix” featuring Haraca Kiko. Last year, Sebastián Yatra also did a “TV” experience in Miami to celebrate his “TV” performance edit music video release.
