As coronavirus has been completely eliminated and everything is totally fine now – illustrated by yesterday’s Freedom Day in the UK – venues are reopening and we’re introducing the things we love to do back into our lives.
Over in Antwerp, this means the reopening of the MoMu fashion museum, which has been closed since 2018 to complete renovation works that were later delayed by the pandemic. To celebrate its long-awaited return, the museum has enlisted some of fashion’s faves to create chic billboards that will be erected around the city next month.
The project – entitled Fashion/Conscious – was creatively directed by Isabella Burley and photographed by Hanna Moon and features images where designers Raf Simons, Marine Serre, Supriya Lele, Glenn Martens, and Walter Van Beirendonck pay homage to their muses.
The museum’s opening will coincide with a brand new exhibition, E/MOTION. Fashion Transition, which explores how we use fashion and clothing to express emotions and the role that designers play within that.
MoMu Antwerp reopens on September 4.
