No, Bad Bunny Isn’t the Most Tweeted-About Artist Leading Up to the 2021 Latin Grammys

The 22nd annual Latin Grammy Awards are tonight (November 18) and fans are gearing up for a full evening of potentially great performances and acceptance speeches. Don’t be late to the show because superstar Gloria Estefan is kicking it off with a three-song medley.

Leading up to the awards show, there have been plenty of tweets sent out to several Latine artists who are nominated for an award this year or who are performing at the ceremony. A list of the most tweeted-about artists about the Latin Grammys was recently released and leading the charts was not Bad Bunny but…Selena Gomez! The list includes tweets that were released between September 1, 2021, and November 15, 2021.

This year, Gomez is nominated for Best Short Form Music Video for her song “De Una Vez.” Rounding out the Top 5 tweeted-about artists over the last two months are (in order) Christina Aguilera, Omar Apollo, Becky G, and Nathy Peluso.

Aguilera is making headlines this year because this will be the first time she performs at the Latin Grammys since the inaugural awards show took place 21 years ago. She will be joined on stage by fellow tweeted-about artists Becky G, Peluso, and Nicki Nicole, who came in at No. 6, to perform Aguilera’s latest single “Pa Mis Muchachas.”

Peluso is nominated this year for Best Urban Fusion/Performance for Nathy Peluso: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 36; Best Rap/Hip-Hop song for “Sana Sana;” Best Alternative Music Album for Calambre; and Best Alternative Song for “Agarrate.” Nicole is nominated for Best Rock song for “Venganza.”

Rounding out the rest of the list is Myke Towers at No. 7, J Balvin at No. 8, Bad Bunny sadly at No. 9, and Camilo at No. 10. We’re sure some of those Balvin tweets weren’t to congratulate him for his three nominations, since he was so critical of the awards this past September.
