Netón Vega Prepares to Step Into the Spotlight With Debut Album
At just 21 years old, Luis Ernesto Vega Carvajal, better known as Netón Vega, has already made a name for himself in the world of Mexican music. With his songwriting skills contributing to hits like Peso Pluma’s “La People” and Luis R. Conríquez’s “Si No Quieres No,” Vega is now preparing to step into the spotlight with his debut album, set for release on January 24, 2025.
Vega’s songwriting success speaks for itself. He currently has multiple tracks on the Hot Latin Songs chart, including collaborations like “La Patrulla” with Peso Pluma and “Chino” with Tito Double P. Reflecting on his journey, Vega acknowledges the role that his connection with Peso Pluma has played in his rise to prominence, fostering collaborations with other leading artists in the Mexican music scene.
With the release of his first single, “Loco,” on December 20, Vega is eager to showcase his talents as a performer. His debut album will include 18 songs, highlighting his versatility across genres such as corridos tumbados, rap, and romantic ballads. “I want people to see all that I can offer because I don’t just do corridos tumbados,” Vega shared.
Netón Vega credits the strong sense of community among Mexican musicians for helping him reach this point. He emphasizes the support and camaraderie that exists among artists like Peso Pluma, Luis R. Conríquez, and Alemán, many of whom will feature on his debut project.
Born in La Paz, Baja California Sur, and raised in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Vega’s musical journey began on the streets, where he first learned to rap and later started composing. Initially writing romantic songs and reggaetón, Vega transitioned to traditional corridos before blending his influences into a style uniquely his own. “I make sure my lyrics aren’t too aggressive,” he says, reflecting on his approach to songwriting.
As competition in the Mexican music industry intensifies, Vega is focused on staying innovative and dedicated to his craft. “I believe we can sustain our careers if we continue working and trying new things,” he says.
Vega’s debut album marks not only a pivotal moment in his career but also an opportunity to connect with audiences through live performances. In early 2025, he will perform in three major cities across Mexico: Monterrey, Mexico City, and Guadalajara. “Having millions of listeners is not the same as having people pay to see you live,” Vega acknowledges, fully embracing the challenge ahead.
With his debut album and upcoming performances, Netón Vega is poised to make 2025 a breakthrough year, solidifying his place as a leading voice in the evolving landscape of Mexican music.
