Is Becky G Joining J-Hope at Lollapalooza?

Fans are buzzing on social media about a rare opportunity for Becky G and K-pop sensation J-Hope to perform together live. Earlier in June, BTS member J-Hope became the first Korean soloist announced to headline the 2022 edition of the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago, IL. With J-Hope being stateside, fans are eager to know if the global superstar and Becky G will finally come together when he plays Grant Park on Sunday, July 31.

In 2019, the unlikely duo dropped a trilingual remake of Webstar and Young B’s 2006 hit “Chicken Noodle Soup.” Like other K-pop and Latine collaborations, the track became an instant fan favorite. Fans have since been clamoring for a live performance with the two stars.

“I swear that I’m following every move Becky G makes,” says one hawkeyed Twitter user. “As soon as I see that she’s taking a flight or appears in Chicago these days, I swear I won’t live to tell the story.”

“It’s almost time for Hoseok at Lolla and no one can get the thought of suddenly having [Chicken Noodle Soup performance] with Becky live from my head,” another hopeful fan tweeted. Ho-seok is J-Hope’s real name.

Fans aren’t the only ones who want this to happen. “I love him so much,” Becky G gushed to Ernesto Buitron News. “Every now and then, we text each other. There were times that [the opportunity to sing] ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ together didn’t work out. We attempted it many times.”

“I want the fans to know that we totally want to,” the Mexican-American singer reassured. “If it happens, we’ll be super happy. I’m going to do what I can. If he invites me, I’m there for sure.”

Becky G has been chilling in her hometown of LA since she gave a headlining performance for MLB’s All-Star Week’s Extra Innings on July 16 at Dodger Stadium. Taking a four-hour flight to Chicago doesn’t seem far-fetched, but we’ll have to wait and see if she’ll be J-Hope’s surprise guest at Hobipalooza after all.
