Irina Shayk’s Rainy Day Look Is as Luxe as Possible
When there’s a torrential downpour outside, looking cute is likely not the first thing you’re thinking about. You’re thinking about how to stay as dry as possible, under the largest umbrella known to mankind. But most of us are not supermodels like Irina Shayk. The model stepped out in New York City yesterday during a cloudy, rainy day, and found the most luxe rain-ready pieces possible.
Let’s start with her raincoat. Shayk looked to a classic Burberry trench to stay dry, which are often made with weatherproof materials (hers also had the English label’s iconic plaid print on the lining—a nice touch). She styled the outerwear with a classic black mini dress, a DeMellier bag, and black tights to keep warm. As for her rain boots, she went practical with a pair of rubber Wellington boots. But here’s weren’t by a classic rain brand like, say, Hunter. No, Shayk wore a cream and black pair by Chanel, which is about as high-end as a rubber boot can be. We wouldn’t expect anything less from a trendsetter who can even make a schoolgirl skirt look high-end. Maybe the rain is an excuse to bust out a cute look, after all. I officially have outfit inspiration for the next overcast day to hit Manhattan. As Lady Gaga said, Rain On Me!
