Fuerza Regida Announces Surprise Collaboration with Playboy — See It Here

Fuerza Regida have teamed up with an unexpected brand for a special collaboration. The Mexican-American group allied with Playboy for the release of a limited capsule collection.

Fuerza Regida are one of the pioneering groups of the corridos tumbados sound. In 2019, their record label, Rancho Humilde, started pushing the música mexicana genre into the mainstream with hits from Fuerza Regida, Natanael Cano, and Junior H. Now that corridos tumbados have gone global, Fuerza Regida continue to lead the charge with over 31.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Now the group is entering the fashion sphere with Playboy.

They joined forces with Playboy for the brand’s 2024 spring summer collection. The band helped design sweaters, shirts, shorts, sweatpants, and hats that combine their flashy corridos tumbados style with the iconic Playboy bunny logo. One of the most luxurious items of clothing in the collection is the silky red robe with the Fuerza Regida and Playboy’s insignias on each side of the chest. Fans can check out the full clothing line here.

For Valentine’s Day, the group released Dolido Pero No Arrepentido. The EP includes the band’s recent hits like “Tú Name” and “Enculado.” That EP arrived on the heels of controversy for Fuerza Regida. The group’s lead singer Jesús Ortíz Paz, who is also known as JOP, was arrested at the border entering Mexico for alleged marijuana possession. After the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) found that his party was in possession of 10 grams of marijuana, which doesn’t warrant imprisonment, they were released from jail.

Paz also experienced a tragic loss last month when Chuy Montana, who was signed to his label Street Mob, was murdered in Tijuana. The suspect in custody allegedly didn’t like a song that Montana was singing and killed him with a group of attackers. The Playboy brand relaunched the digital Playgirl magazine this week with Maluma on the cover.
