EXCLUSIVE: Villano Antillano Announces Dates for First U.S. Tour

Villano Antillano is hitting the road this summer with her first tour of the U.S. In an exclusive with Remezcla, the rising Puerto Rican star is announcing La Sustancia X USA Tour and discussing what fans can expect from her concerts.

In 2018, Villano made a splash with her song “Pato Hasta La Muerte,” which was a response to Anuel AA. She called out Anuel AA for his homophobic lyrics in “Intocable,” his diss track against Cosculluela. From that moment, Villano has become a powerful voice for queer people and women in the Latine rap scene. In 2021, she reclaimed queer Latine slurs with her breakthrough single “Pájara.”

La Sustancia X USA Tour is named after her latest album. The seven-city tour will kick off on Aug. 17 in Miami, FL. Throughout the rest of the month, Villano will visit major cities like Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and New Haven on her first headlining tour of the U.S. Villano will be proudly representing the LGBTQIA+ community with her tour.

“I am very excited to be able to add the talent, the experiences, the creativity, and the absolutely raw power of the queer community in a single show,” she tells Remezcla. “Beyond presenting a high-class show, we are presenting the force with which all LGBTQIA+ people take to the streets every day in a world that pushes us towards genocide.”

Last year, Villana went global when Argentine producer Bizarrap enlisted her for “BZRP Music Sessions #51.” The explosive collaboration has amassed over 190 million views on YouTube. She followed that up with her debut album La Sustancia X. In empowering bangers like “Mujer” with iLe and “Hedonismo,” Villana raps about being a fierce and confident trans woman who is ready to take over the world.

In her songs, Villano is known for being an artivist for expressing her activism through her art. “I think there is no greater rallying cry or show of resistance than reclaiming all those spaces that belong to us and from which we are violently excluded: Sometimes art or social circles, sometimes even the right to life itself,” she adds.

General tickets for Villano’s La Sustancia X USA Tour will go on sale on Thursday, Mar. 16 at 10 a.m. local time. Citi pre-sale tickets will be available starting tomorrow, Mar. 14, at 10 A.M. local time. Fans can check out Live Nation for more information.
