DannyLux Finds Love for Music and Songwriting through a Used Guitar

DannyLux’s Love for Music and Songwriting was Kindled by a Used Guitar

DannyLux, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter, owes his career to a guitar that his dad found on one of his sanitation runs. DannyLux recalls how his dad would bring home new items he found on his job, including furniture and toys. One day, his dad came home with a guitar case, and DannyLux knew that he wanted to learn how to play it. He begged his mom to put him in guitar classes, but instead, she enrolled him in the church choir, where he learned the basics of playing the guitar.

DannyLux’s passion for music started to grow during his high school years when he discovered Mexican music and his ability to write songs. At this point, he realized that he wanted to pursue music as a career. He started listening to Mexican songs on TikTok and became enamored with the romantic sounds. Despite not excelling in academics, DannyLux found his niche in music and was determined to make it work.

DannyLux’s hard work and dedication paid off when he hit number one on Billboard’s Latin Songwriters chart in 2021, thanks to his collaboration with Eslabon Armado on “Jugaste Y Sufrí.” He signed with Warner Music Latina in 2020, and he is part of the 2023 Fender Next class, an artist development program designed to elevate rising musicians who are pushing the guitar forward in music.

DannyLux is excited to be part of the Fender Next program, especially because his first guitar was an acoustic Fender guitar for beginners. The program aims to support and ensure that guitar players from all backgrounds have a barrier-free experience in learning the guitar. Fender found that 38% of new guitar players in the last two years identify as Latin, highlighting the need to support rising Latin artists.

Yahritza Y Su Esencia, a sibling trio who went viral on TikTok and debuted at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, is also part of the Fender Next program. They were nominated for Best New Artist at the 2022 Latin Grammys. The trio expressed how playing their instruments helped them in tough times and how their guitars became their companions on their journey as artists.

DannyLux and Yahritza Y Su Esencia are part of a new generation of Mexican artists who are making waves in the music industry. They show that with hard work, dedication, and a passion for music, anyone can achieve their dreams.
