Christina Aguilera Announces Ozuna Collab, Sending Fans Into a Frenzy
After her highly anticipated return to Latine Pop, musical icon Christina Aguilera announced her latest collaboration off her upcoming Spanish EP La Fuerza, “Santo” featuring Ozuna. The song is slated to drop on Jan. 20.
On Jan. 13, Xtina took to social media to announce her collaboration with Ozuna, posting a picture of the two in a purple landscape with matching shades of red ensembles — the “Pa Mis Muchachas” singer in a bodysuit and Ozuna in a jacket and track pants. The caption read simply “Santo feat. @ozuna 01.20.22,” with her profile photo changing to match the image and her bio into the pre-save link.
As expected, this sent social media into chaos. Twitter users went into a frenzy over this surprise announcement, many sharing their excitement over the upcoming Xtina en español content.
One Twitter user wrote, “Made me forget I was sick @Xtina #santo @Ozuna.” If this track isn’t a mental booster shot, I don’t know what is!
And when we say this was a surprise announcement, we’re not kidding. Another fan tweeted: “I was literally washing my hair when @Xtina announced Santo”
Other fans expressed their desire to see the “Dirrty” singer get down with some perreo, and if this happens, we don’t know how we’ll make it through alive!
But “Santo” doesn’t come as a surprise for other more seasoned stans.
If you’ve found yourself on Xtina stan Twitter, you’ll see tweets dating back to Oct. 2021 calling for the release of the song. “Santo” originally leaked on Twitter last fall as Xtina’s original solo demo, sans the Ozuna feature. Rumors swirled about possible collaborators, from a four-way feature of Rosalía, Camila Cabello, and Kali Uchis, to a Bad Bunny production and verse. Though these possibilities make our heads swirl, we’re sure the final product of the song will be amazing.
“Santo” is slated to be Xtina’s second commercial single from her second Spanish-era, following “Pa Mis Muchachas” her electrifyingly anthemic collaboration with Becky G, Nathy Peluso, and Nicki Nicole. Both tracks will be featured on her upcoming Spanish EP, La Fuerza.
