Can We Expect an Ariana Grande & Kali Uchis Collab Soon?

The streets of Stan Twitter are talking for the best reason. Grammy-award winner Kali Uchis revealed that she will be working on music with none other than Ariana Grande soon.

On Sep. 11, the Colombian singer-songwriter was asked if she was collaborating with Grande during a TikTok livestream. “She’s not recording right now because she’s working on her movie stuff; her play [‘Wicked’] that she’s doing,” Uchis responded. “But [Ariana] said that when she’s done with that, we are going to work. I’m excited for that.”

Fans of both singers took to social media after the announcement, sparing no meme nor ounce of enthusiasm.

“We may have to wait for months until we get that Kali x Ariana collab,” lamented a fan on Twitter. “But at least this confirms Ariana is planning to put out music once she’s done with Wicked.”

“When Ariana sings in Spanish in the collab with Kali Uchis and it’s a smash,” writes one fan who’s already thinking ahead. “So then Bad Bunny offers her to collab and she accepts and they release the collab of the century.”

Fans waiting for the collab might have to be more patient than usual. Grande’s obligations to her filming schedule could likely keep her away from the recording studio for a while. “Wicked,” the highly-anticipated film adaption of the hit Broadway musical, is set to be released in two parts. Part One will be released on Dec. 25, 2024, and Part Two will follow one year later on Decr. 25, 2025. Both “Wicked” films will be directed by “In the Heights” and “Crazy Rich Asians” director Jon M. Chu.

In the meantime, Uchis is keeping her fans fed with her recently released track “No Hay Ley.” Earlier this year, the “telepatía” singer revealed that two studio albums (one in English and another in Spanish) were on the way. Until then, we’ll be waiting with bated breath.
