Bruno Mars Starts New Band Silk Sonic With Anderson .Paak & They’ve Already Recorded an Album
Singer and songwriter Bruno Mars has teamed up with rapper Anderson .Paak to start a new band, Silk Sonic. Bruno Mars made the announcement late on Twitter Thursday night (Feb. 25).
Mars also let fans know that the duo has already recorded an album and that the first single from the new project will debut on March 5. Musician Bootsy Collins will be a “special guest host” on the album.
The last time Mars and .Paak worked together was in 2017 when they were on tour together and a video surfaced showing them at Abbey Road Studios. The new album will be the first for Mars since he released 2016’s 24K Magic, which won multiple Grammys, including Album of the Year, Best R&B
Album and Record of the Year. The song “That’s What I Like” also won Song of the Year.
Fans online were excited to see that Mars was dropping another album soon and looked forward to hearing his first single with .Paak.
The news had some people thinking about all the post-pandemic dancing they want to experience with the new album.
Others joked that maybe Silk Sonic’s new album is exactly what was going to save the new year from looking like last year.
No matter how music lovers were feeling, most of them shared at least one sentiment about getting new music from Mars.
