BlackPink’s Rosé on Fashion, Family, and Becoming Tiffany & Co.’s Newest Ambassador

As the world’s premier girl group, BlackPink has influenced trends since its inception. This year, however, their impact on the fashion world has become undeniable. With all four members serving as representatives for luxury houses, and the release of style-filled productions like their binge-watch-worthy Netflix documentary, Light Up the Sky, they’ve asserted themselves as fashion power players.

Each of the band’s beauties has her own take on fashion, but even alongside her well-dressed peers, Rosé stands out. Today, she adds another glamorous milestone to her 2021: becoming a global ambassador for Tiffany & Co. This morning’s announcement adds her to a list that has included A-listers like Lupita Nyong’o, Elle Fanning, and Chinese actor-musician Jackson Yee. As the face of the brand’s “HardWear” digital campaign, Rosé wears the collection’s sleek 18K gold gauge link necklaces and pavé diamonds with grace in the images.

A fan of the line since her school days at an all-girls academy in Melbourne, Rosé found that shooting the ads was a full-circle moment. “I’ve worn Tiffany jewelry since I was in high school,” she shared via email. “To be a part of such an iconic brand that has been a part of my life for a long time makes it that much more special to me. I’m very honored and excited.” Tiffany’s classic glamour made Rosé think back to a personal style icon: her mom. “I still remember when she used to work full time back in New Zealand. How she would dress up in the chicest black fitted blazer and pencil skirt,” she says. “I admire her in so many ways, [especially] how responsible, respectful, and kind she is to the people around her.” She also credits her mother with inspiring her love of dressing up. “She always looked like a boss with her dark red lipstick and perfectly styled hair,” says Rosé. “She was always my idol. I wanted to look like her when I grew up.”

As her partnership involves IRL events—the ads will take over the facade of Tiffany’s Manhattan flagship starting in May—and starring in high gloss fashion imagery, there will be plenty of time for wearing the brand’s gemstones with ruby red lips and any other looks Rosé dreams up. Already the star has been delighting her Instagram audience with glimpses of her diamond wire band rings and wrap necklaces. But for now, she’s just excited to share her campaign debut with the world. “I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” she says.
