Abuelita Goes Viral on TikTok Trying To Buy Bad Bunny Tickets
Grandparents will sometimes do anything to make their grandchildren happy. Such was the case with a Mexican grandma who’s featured in a video that has recently gone viral on TikTok. The video shows the abuelita collecting money to help her granddaughter buy a ticket to a Bad Bunny concert.
Instead of Bad Bunny, however, the grandma, who is seen emptying out her piggy bank filled with pesos, calls the rapper “Bugs Bunny.” Close enough.
“What are you going to buy with your savings?” someone asks during the video. The grandma replies with, “Give them to my granddaughter so she can go see Bugs Bunny.” The video has been viewed more than 533,000 times since being uploaded on January 25.
For those who aren’t familiar with Bugs Bunny, he is an animated rabbit character featured in cartoons like Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies. He recently starred in the movie sequel Space Jam alongside Lebron James and Speedy Gonzalez.
Late last month, Bad Bunny announced his upcoming “World’s Hottest Tour,” which begins in August. The tour will take the rapper across the United States and Latin America, including shows in Monterrey and Mexico City.
We’re hoping the video was taken prior to the tickets going on sale since the internet went crazy as soon as they were available for purchase. Tickets were in such high demand, Bad Bunny had to add extra shows in at least six cities so far.
We’re not sure how many pesos the grandma was ultimately able to shake out of her piggy bank, but if there were enough to purchase two tickets, we’re hoping the granddaughter takes her abuelita to the concert and records her dancing to “Dákiti.”
