Latin Music Stars Unite for Earthquake Relief and New Milestones

The Latin music industry is demonstrating its profound capacity for unity and influence, as artists and organizations rally to support communities impacted by recent seismic events. On Sunday, Aug. 23, the initiative Colombia: Voces por la Vida will take place at Bogotá’s Vive Claro Distrito Cultural, bringing together a powerful coalition of artists, promoters, and media partners to raise essential funds for the country’s ongoing rebuilding efforts.

Led by Ocesa Colombia’s Luz Angela Castro, the event features a star-studded lineup including Maluma, Kris R, Miguel Bosé, Greeicy, Silvestre Dangond, Eladio Carrión, Draco Rosa, Sebastián Yatra, TIMØ, Pedro Capó, Manuel Turizo, and Juan Duque. In a show of solidarity, Karol G will participate via livestream through her Con Cora Foundation, with more artists expected to join the cause. This collective effort involves major industry players such as MOVE Concerts, Páramo Presenta, CMN, and Villalón Group, highlighting the industry’s commitment to social responsibility.

Maná Makes History with Apple Music

Beyond humanitarian efforts, the Latin music scene is celebrating significant artistic milestones. The legendary band Maná has achieved a historic first, becoming the inaugural Latin act featured in Apple Music’s prestigious Rediscovered series. More than three decades after the release of their groundbreaking album ¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños?, the band performed a fresh, Spatial Audio version of their hit “Oye Mi Amor” at Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles.

With over 50 million albums sold worldwide and a decorated career featuring multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy awards, the band continues to solidify its legacy. Their performance joins an elite roster of Rediscovered sessions from artists like Norah Jones and Billy Idol, further cementing their status as global icons.

Community Celebrations and New Releases

The momentum continues in New York, where Elvis Crespo is set to headline the finale of the 2026 Bronx Summer Concert Series on Sept. 6. The free Labor Day weekend celebration at the Orchard Beach Pavilion promises to be a vibrant showcase of merengue and community spirit. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, ZZK Records is reviving its “Onda Latina” dance night on Sept. 10 at Townhouse Venice, continuing its mission to spotlight adventurous Latin electronic and folkloric sounds.

Finally, the Afro-Latin duo STA-BN, comprised of D Smoke and Drezz, has released their latest track, “Mujeres.” The bilingual, mid-tempo song serves as an ode to the power and individuality of women, further bridging the gap between English- and Spanish-language music markets.
