Bad Bunny Transforms Into a Senior Citizen for 2026 Met Gala

Bad Bunny is no stranger to making a bold statement on the red carpet, but at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday (May 4), the Latin superstar truly outdid himself. The artist arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with a look that had everyone doing double takes, fully committing to a transformation that aged him by decades.

Sporting sophisticated white hair and intricate wrinkle makeup, the artist strolled down the carpet with a cane in hand. He was dressed in an all-black suit accented by a large, flowing bow, perfectly capturing the theme of the evening. Beyond the aesthetic details, his commitment to the character was evident in his deliberate, measured body language, which sold the senior citizen persona entirely.

When asked by Vogue red carpet co-host La La Anthony how he manages to consistently push the boundaries of his Met Gala appearances, the Grammy-winning artist remained humble. “I don’t know,” he replied. “It’s becoming a part of my life, trying to do something different. This day of the Met is a perfect day to explore and be creative and express yourself in a different way.”

The transformation was no small feat. When pressed on how long the elaborate look took to assemble, Bad Bunny joked, “53 years exactly. It took a little bit but it’s worth it. I hope I look good.” He added with a wink that he was hoping the convincing disguise might score him a senior discount on his museum entry.

This theatrical flair is becoming a hallmark of his career, which continues to expand beyond music. With a starring role in an upcoming film about Puerto Rico directed by Residente, and previous acting turns in Bullet Train and Happy Gilmore 2, Bad Bunny is clearly comfortable stepping into new personas.

The 2026 Met Gala, themed “Fashion Is Art,” featured a star-studded guest list including Maluma, Madonna, Beyoncé, Charli xcx, Sam Smith, Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter, and the members of BLACKPINK. As the night progressed, the focus remained on the intersection of costume and creativity, with Bad Bunny once again proving he is a master of both.
