Ever Thought How Peso Pluma & Chencho Corleone Sound Together? Wonder No More, They Collaborated
Chencho Corleone is back with new music. On Apr. 4, the Puerto Rican singer dropped his newest collaboration, “HUMO,” with Peso Pluma. The result? An infectious high-octave throwback reggaeton banger.
“HUMO ! YA DISPONIBLE EN TODAS LAS PLATAFORMAS DIGITALES ‼️👯💨🔥 @chenchocorleone,” the Mexican superstar wrote online.
This joint track isn’t a total surprise to eagle-eyed fans. La Doble P’s fans know that he manifested it during an old interview back in Sep. 2022. He said he would want to collaborate with Chencho and praised him by saying: “Está perro ese vato, el Chencho.” Fast forward to this year, the Puerto Rican artist used part of the interview to tease their official collaboration.
“I met Peso Pluma one day in the studio with no intention of recording that day and, ironically, when we got back together, we ended up recording the song that I went to record the day we met,” the former Plan B member said in a press statement. “Apparently, it was destined to be that way, and we are both comfortable with what we managed to capture together.”
The new reggaeton collaboration features a hypnotic melody carried by the duo’s high-pitched voices. Together, they mirror their similar flows on a throwback reggaeton track that highlights a rhythmic perreo-ready beat produced by Chencho and Sky Rompiendo.
Fans are talking about both singers’ matching voices. A social media user wrote in Spanish: “from the heart I don’t know whether chencho or peso pluma was singing.” Another social media user commented in Spanish: “Me not knowing who is who in peso pluma and Chencho’s song. Their voices are almost the same,” paired with the three Spider-men pointing at each other.
Other social media users are praising the overall collaboration: “I felt like it revived plan b and peso pluma devoured in the old school reggaeton style that chencho does.”
Up next, Chencho is set to perform at Baja Beach Fest in Rosarito, Mexico (Aug. 9). Peso Pluma will perform at both Coachella weekends (Apr. 12 and 19) and continue to his 2024 Éxodo Tour.
