WATCH: Fuerza Regida’s New Music Video for ‘TU NAME’ Is for All the Tóxicos

Fuerza Regida has the perfect song for forgetting an ex. Today (Mar. 21), the Mexican-American group released the flashy music video for their hit “TU NAME.”

“TU NAME” is one of the songs on Fuerza Regida’s Dolido Pero No Arrepentido EP, released close to Valentine’s Day 2024. The EP includes songs about love and heartbreak. “TU NAME” falls into the latter category. In the fiery corrido, Fuerza Regida’s lead singer Jesús Ortiz Paz, who is also known as JOP, sings about forgetting an ex by going out with other women. The song has become a hit, peaking at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and No. 66 on the Hot 100 chart.

“When the song ‘TU NAME’ was in the making, I thought about all my fans that are dolidos and I’ve seen a lot of heartbroken fans at my shows y yo escribí esta canción para que te olvides de su nombre,” JOP shared in a statement.

The music video for “TU NAME” was directed by MIGUEL, a close collaborator and childhood friend of Fuerza Regida. With MIGUEL, the band wanted to show that no matter how big they’ve gotten, they’ll always remain connected to their community and San Bernardino roots. In the video, JOP goes shopping with multiple women to get the point across that his ex is a distant memory. When he calls out the names Brianna, Julianna, and Tania, each has its own gold necklace. JOP flaunts that he has become a player.

Over the weekend, Fuerza Regida canceled their appearance at the Rolling Loud California festival in Inglewood, CA. The band cited a “personal emergency” as their reason for dropping out. They were the third música mexicana and Rancho Humilde act to cancel their appearance at the festival. Natanael Cano and Junior H also pulled out from performing at Rolling Loud.
