J Balvin Has New Air Jordans on the Way & It’s Giving Medellín
J Balvin is adding to his sneaker collection. After a few delays, fans can purchase the new J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Sunset” on Saturday (September 23).
Balvin designed his own Air Jordan 1 three years ago and was the first Latine artist to do so. His second version of the shoes released last year were glow-in-the-dark. His third collaboration with the brand is likely to be his most popular.
The newest J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 is inspired by the sunsets in Balvin’s hometown of Medellín, Colombia. The colorway has a tri-color palette. Nike says the shoe features a “sky-fading from crimson to the last fiery flame of yellow” while “gradient accents evoke the colors of a Medellín sunset, popping against a coconut milk backdrop and Solar Flare detailing.” The sneaker also features Balvin’s signature logo on a complementary hangtag.
Balvin was recently seen wearing his new sneakers alongside basketball legend Michael Jordan at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. “Never stop dreaming and working towards your goals,” he wrote on social media.
J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 men’s sneakers retail for $250. There are also sizes for pre-schoolers for $100 and for infants and toddlers for $80. For more information on purchasing them, go to the Nike website.
