Michaela Jaé Rodriguez Joins Cast of ‘American Horror Story’ — Here’s What We Know

After three seasons on Ryan Murphy’s drama series Pose, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez is reuniting with the co-creator for season 12 of his anthology series American Horror Story on FX.

According to Deadline, season 12, American Horror Story: Delicate, will be based on the upcoming novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine. It will be the first time the series will pull inspiration from a novel.

“Guess the cat’s out of the bag,” Rodriguez posted on social media when the news hit Friday (April 28).

Deadline reports that the new season of American Horror Story will follow a pregnant woman who believes a sinister figure is doing everything it can to make sure she doesn’t give birth. It is being described as a “feminist update of Rosemary’s Baby,” the 1968 psychological horror film.

There are no details about the role Rodriguez will play, but she is joining a cast that includes Kim Kardashian (The Kardashians), Emma Roberts (American Horror Story: 1984), and Cara Delevingne (Only Murders in the Building).

Plenty of American Horror Story fans shared their excitement online for Rodriguez’s casting.

Last year, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez made TV history when she became the first trans woman to win a Golden Globe. The award came in the Best Actress in a TV Drama category. Currently, she is filming the second season of the AppleTV+ comedy series, Loot, alongside Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids). This summer, Rodriguez’s voice will be heard playing a character named Nightbird in the sequel Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

American Horror Story: Delicate is set to premiere sometime this summer.
