These Bad Bunny Shows Are Among the Highest-Grossing in History
Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour wrapped up this weekend with incredible news. Not only was the U.S. leg tour successful, but the last two stadium shows made history. His last U.S. performances (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1) at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA, marked two of the highest-grossing shows to date.
To put the highly-anticipated tour’s impact in perspective, it sold over 944,000 tickets, grossing over $232 million across 21 sold-out shows in 15 cities. According to Billboard, this translates to an average of $10.1 million per show, based on his Aug. tour dates alone.
As aforementioned, The World’s Hottest Tour broke records, putting Bad Bunny’s name on the highest-grossing concerts in history. Among the highest-grossing shows to date, Bad Bunny’s second night in L.A. is at No. 2, the first night in L.A. is at No. 3, and the Chicago show is at No. 6. The No. 1 highest-grossing date remains George Strait’s performance in Texas.
It makes sense since the tour was one of the most highly-anticipated events this summer. Part of the World’s Hottest Tour spectacle was that special guests on different tour stops would join the Puerto Rican icon. During his last two historic show dates – where he performed for nearly three hours each time – he didn’t fail to surprise his audience. He was joined by Chencho Corleone, Ivy Queen, Bomba Estéreo, and Jowell y Randy on the first night; and Corleone, Ivy Queen, Cardi B, and Arcángel on the second night.
According to the press release, the popular tour also broke all-time concert gross records throughout the nation, including other stadiums: Yankee Stadium (New York), Soldier Field (Chicago), and Hard Rock Stadium (Miami).
Besides breaking tour grossing records, Bad Bunny was also presented with his official day in L.A. Oct. 1 will now be known as Bad Bunny Day. He was recognized because of his cultural impact on L.A.’s Latine culture. The City Councilman reportedly said that his impact will “redefine Latino culture in Los Angeles and beyond for years to come.”
What’s next for Benito? He starts his Latin American tour leg on Oct. 21 in the Dominican Republic.
