We’re getting new Becky G music sooner than we thought! Today (April 20), the multi-faceted Mexican-American pop star Becky G revealed she’s getting ready to release her third studio album entitled ESQUEMAS on May 13. And to hype up her upcoming project, the singer dropped her newest upbeat electronic single, “NO MIENTEN.”
Featuring a unique guitar plucking over a certified club banger, Becky G sings in Spanish: “You can lie again / But it’s clear to me how you feel / Last night you slipped out an ‘I love you’ / And they say drunks don’t lie.” Listening to these lyrics, it sounds like she’s bringing bold bops in her new album – and we are so ready for them.
The infectious song produced by Spread Lof (Rauw Alejandro, Sebastián Yatra) alongside Juacko (Anuel AA) is an exciting new sound for the “Sin Pijama” singer, who has been showing us musical diversity in her past releases. In her latest pop reggaeton collaboration, “MAMIII” with Karol G, she showed us a different type of sound, featuring a hint of ranchera vocals from Becky in the prelude, first featured in the new music video. The track was such a hit that said music video has already amassed over 7 million views in less than a week.
In addition to releasing “NO MIENTEN,” Becky also revealed the ESQUEMAS album cover. She’s featured wearing her iconic hoop earrings and lip gloss combo, and sports sharp white-tipped claw-like nails as she stands in front of a blue-hued background.
The new song and album announcement come right after Becky performed on Coachella’s main stage, joining Karol G as a special guest star to perform “MAMIII” together for the first time. The two commanded the stage and proved they’re both empowering Latinas to be reckoned with.
