Yara Shahidi Pulls Up To The 2021 Met Gala In A Tan Josephine Baker-Inspired Beaded Gown
It’s *finally* Met Monday, and all of our favorite celebs are serving serious looks for the “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” theme. Grownish star Yara Shahidi made it to the gala for a second time, and her outfit proves that this isn’t her first time at the rodeo that is the Met Gala. Yara arrived at the coveted fashion event in a gorgeously beaded tan Dior gown, and, of course, wore a trained veil to match. After all, I’d expect nothing less for the biggest night in fashion.
The gloves, the train, the veil — let’s get into it. I can’t even lie, I’m screaming at her divine beauty. When it came to the inspiration behind her look, Yara shared that American icon Josephine Baker was a driving force. I mean, seriously. The resemblance is uncanny.
And, since it’s her second time at the gala, Yara knows just what to expect when it comes to heading inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“You start with this crazy huge carpet — one of the biggest of the year — and then you go inside and it’s literally like a family dinner,” she told celebrity Vogue correspondent Keke Palmer. “What to expect is to take a deep breath and everything that it’s amped up to be becomes so much more intimate as soon as you step into those doors.”
It seems like Yara is a seasoned pro when it comes to the Met Gala, and anyone who experiences the night with her should be so lucky.
