JLo & Lady Gaga To Perform at Biden’s Inauguration
We’re less than a week away from the presidential inauguration of Joe Biden and while the festivities won’t be as grand as past ceremonies, this event will include some big performances from celebrities like JLo and Lady Gaga.
On Thursday (Jan. 14), the Presidential Inaugural Committee announced that Jennifer Lopez will be in attendance and will perform a song for the incoming Commander-in-Chief. Also headlining the event will be Lady Gaga, who will sing the National Anthem.
Others participating in the event include Father Leo J. O’Donovan, who will be giving the invocation, poet laureate Amanda Gorman and Reverend Dr. Silvester Beaman, who will give the benediction.
“We are thrilled to announce an inspired group of dynamic participants for the 59th Inaugural Ceremonies,” Tony Allen, CEO of the Presidential Inaugural Committee, said in a statement. “They represent one clear picture of the grand diversity of our great nation and will help honor and celebrate the time-honored traditions of the presidential inauguration.”
During an interview with JLo last October, Biden and soon-to-be first Lady Dr. Jill Biden told the Latina superstar that if they won the White House “Latina women will have a seat at the table…and in the Cabinet.”
We’re going to assume outfits like JLo wore for the Super Bowl last year are going to stay in the closet for the inauguration (leather chaps or metallic bodysuit, anyone?), but we wouldn’t mind seeing that feathered cape designed as an American flag again.
So, any guesses on which song JLo will perform? Whichever one she chooses, model Chrissy Teigen would like it to be in Spanish.
