Cher Steps Out In a Look Only an Icon Can Pull Off

Can you imagine walking down the street and randomly stumbling across Cher? Londoners were given this special treat today, when the icon herself took to the U.K. streets in style. A Cher sighting is always a rare occasion, especially in public, and for the special occasion, she sported a statement look that only Hollywood royalty could pull off. 

No, Cher didn’t run errands in one of her signature Bob Mackie gowns, but she did sport a dramatic chapeau for the affair: a black and white beret. Taking her outfit one step further, she paired it with a two-toned coat in the same colors, featuring cape-style sleeves and asymmetrical buttons. (A+ for coordination.) Cher then accessorized it with heeled boots and jeans—because, you know, this is her version of casual wear. 

At 74, she’s still at the top of her fashion game, even on her days off. As she sang in her near-perfect film Burlesque, the ensemble screams, “you haven’t seen the last of me.” Thank god for that.
