Of Course Victoria Beckham’s Christmas Sweater is Effortlessly Cool
Victoria Beckham knows how to elevate a trend. Since her days as the chicest Spice Girl, the musician-turned-designer has taken existing concepts and made them her own. Having upgraded the LBD, evening, tux, and pleated midi, Beckham took on her biggest challenge yesterday on Instagram: making a holiday sweater seem cool. As she announced the reopening of her Dover Street store in London and her “countdown to Christmas,” Beckham posted a snapshot of herself in a merino wool jumper from her VVB line. Frosted with silver lurex, the navy turtleneck was subtly festive, especially when the Beckham zoomed in to showcase the knit’s details—and her canary yellow diamond ring.
As amusing as Santa cardigans and “ugly” holiday sweaters can be, there’s something to be said for holiday-appropriate options that are good-looking and remain appealing year-round. Always one to dress with intent, Beckham utilizes favorite creations from her collections to send a message. In her minimalist metallic knit, she sent a clear one: ’tis the season. “It’s time to turn on the VB Christmas lights,” she wrote on Instagram, and we couldn’t agree more.
