Peru’s Corriente Music Fair Goes Online for Its 2020 Edition

After holding a successful first edition in 2019, Peruvian music fair Corriente goes online this 2020 with four days of free events dedicated to bringing knowledge and exposure to Latin American artists and music industry workers. On September 2-5, people everywhere will be able to be part of Corriente via its own app, now available here.

Organized by promoter Selvámonos, now in conjunction with local agency Reproductora, Corriente’s schedule includes workshops, masterclasses, and networking activities, where participants can acquire useful tools to navigate the current music panorama. Topics like digital strategies, marketing, licensing, and synchronization will be covered in the workshops, and special masterclasses about traditional Peruvian instruments, like Afro-Peruvian percussion and Andean harp, will be held.

On the “Conoce a los especialistas” space, audiences will be able to connect with a diverse group of Ibero-American music industry actors, including people from promotion companies like Páramo Presenta, Veltrac, and Last Tour; venues like Argentina’s Niceto, and publications like Mexico’s Marvin. There will also be intimate conversations with international artists like Boricua producer Eduardo Cabra, presented by Remezcla; and Lima artists Dengue Dengue Dengue and Rafo Ráez.

Each day ends with showcases featuring talent from Peru and beyond. Local acts like François Peglau, Diego Trip, Moldes, Cimarrones, and Los Estroboscópicos are all part of the program, which also includes Costa Rica’s Nakury and Barzo, Argentine singer/songwriter Sol Pereyra, Chilean pop artist Oddó, Puerto Rico’s Sebastián Otero, and Muerdo, from Spain.
