6 TikTok DJ Mashups We Can’t Get Enough Of

TikTok is the place to discover anything and everything — especially DJ mixes. The creativity of creators on TikTok is unmatched, and the DJs have been coming up with and sharing mashups where they pair two songs that are unlike one another and make an entirely new soundscape, using a specific point in a song to transition into the other. We’ve seen everything from a mashup of Diana Ross’s “I’m Coming Out” with “Down With the Sickness” by Disturbed, which worked surprisingly well, to a ROSALÍA song paired with Missy Elliot’s “Get Your Freak On.” However, the Latine DJs are also showing out with their own mashups of Spanish-language hits that are incredibly smooth. Most of the DJs have made content like this before, whereas others are just realizing how in-demand these mixes are and trying their hands at it.

A lot of the songs being used are ones that are already popular on TikTok mashed together, while others are just songs that nobody expected to work as well as they do together. We have to admit up front that many of these are Bad Bunny songs, but can you blame us? There are too many Benito songs to choose from, especially since dropping his palo after palo collection, Un Verano Sin Ti. Not to mention that because he draws inspiration from reggaeton classics — whether it be sonically or lyrically — it only makes sense that they create something magical when put together in a mashup. Here is a list of some of our favorite mixes we’ve seen so far on TikTok.

Bad Bunny’s “Titi Me Preguntó” X Dixson Waz’s “Tocco Tocco To”

Eagle-eared listeners noticed that when Benito gets to the chorus of his club-ready hit “Titi Me Preguntó,” the repetition of the last syllable in “preguntó” sounds like the perfect segue into the dembow classic, “Tocco Tocco To.” After having it requested multiple times, DJs put their skills to the test and created the masterpiece that is this mashup.

Bad Bunny has so many quotable lyrics in his songs, and “Me Porto Bonito” is no different. “No eres bebesita, eres bebesota/ Frikitona ma’ se te nota,” he yells on the track. DJ Drip on TikTok decided to give the people what they wanted and put this song with “Frikitona” by Plan B, utilizing the mention on Benito’s song to smoothly transition into the group’s 2011 song.

ROSALÍA’s “SAOKO” X Missy Elliot “Get Your Freak On”

ROSALÍA is known to sample songs and draw inspiration from different genres — especially hip-hop. She’s spoken multiple times about how much that genre and reggaeton shaped her sound. So when her hit “SAOKO” was mixed with “Get Your Freak On” by Missy Elliot, it just made so much sense. The reggaeton beat, which is already an interpolation from Winsin and Daddy Yankee’s song of a similar name, also samples Missy’s beat. Their two songs combined resulted in a better mashup than we could have hoped for.

“A Tu Merced” by Bad Bunny X Selena’s “Baila Esta Cumbia”

Anything for Selenas right? Bad Bunny’s discography is clearly a hit within mashups — and add music from the late Tejano superstar and you’ve gone yourself unmatched energy. While we wouldn’t initially think to put together these two tracks — this mashup proves that it could definitely work when executed with care like done here by DJ VRYWVY.

Bad Bunny’s “Un Ratito” X Rauw Alejandro “Sexo Virtual”

Benito and Rauw Alejandro have begun solidifying their places as Latine superstars in the music industry, so it only made sense that they worked together on a song. Rauw made his long overdue appearance on Bad Bunny’s latest album Un Verano Sin Ti, on the song “Party.” This mix, however, takes another song from El Conejo Malo’s album, “Un Ratito” with Rauw’s “Sexo Virtual.” Who knew the two songs would sound as delightful as they do together?

“In Da Getto” by J Balvin & Skrillex X El Alfa’s “La Mama de la Mama”

Dominican Dembow artist El Alfa is having his own viral moment with “Gogo Dance” on TikTok right now, as people imitate the dance accompanied by the viral song. One DJ decided to mix one of his most popular songs, “La Mama de la Mama,” with a dance track from J Balvin and Skrillex. The upbeat mashup has been fun to listen to and makes us want to hear the mix in a club on a hot summer day.
