11 Vogue Editors Reveal the Items They Bought—and Loved—in June

As Vogue editors, we often wax poetic on the latest runway must-haves and home decor treasures, but not every item we gush about on this website ultimately ends up in our closets and homes. Our discoveries are nice to behold—they’re lovely to look at and inspire fun conversation—however, of all these cool things to buy, what did we actually end up buying? Each month we’ll highlight those special finds our editors welcomed into their lives—all the things that gave us buyer’s rejoice.

From the newly resumed Broadway shows to the comeback of weddings, it feels so good to see the world reopening again. Naturally, the influx of events on our calendars gave Vogue editors an excuse to do a little shopping in June. The entire month was all about anchoring our closets with versatile staples that could easily be worn in any environment—like those wear-everywhere Superga sneakers that have been around for decades, matching skirt sets from affordable retailers like Zara, and on-trend Jacquemus swimsuits that can double as a bodysuit top with trousers.

One of the biggest shopping holidays of the year also took place last month, which, of course, encouraged us (and our readers) to do a little shopping as well, especially since the mega-retailer has quite a reliable collection of wardrobe-essentials. To find exactly what items were purchased and adored, keep scrolling through.

As temperatures started soaring this month, my clothing choices have been easy and breezy. I recently saw a family friend wearing this adorable two-piece set from Zara, and so began a multi-store hunt to find it. It seemed too good to be true: a whole outfit for under $100?! Luckily I was able to get my hands on the set and promptly wore it hours later. The print and cut are fun, flattering, and, most importantly, breathable. I know I will get lots of wear out of it this summer!

I missed out on these Tevas last summer, so I jumped at the chance to buy them a couple of weeks ago. They’re crazy comfy (and super lightweight!) and I love the mix of muted colors. I’ve been wearing them with everything from jeans and leggings to flowery Helmstedt dresses.

This past month, I picked up a pair of Castañer espadrilles. I buy them every summer because I firmly believe they’re the only shoes one really needs between the months of May and August. (You can read all about that here!) I plan to wear them to a couple of summer weddings, but in the meantime, you can catch me wearing them just about everywhere else.

I bought this pair of Levi’s jeans on Amazon Prime Day, and I am so excited to wear them on cool summer nights and into the fall. They fit like a glove! I’m looking forward to pairing them with this new top from Zara and these low-heel slingback sandals so I can easily transition my outfit from day to night.

I purchased this Bassike dress for my first post-pandemic wedding this year. I loved its simple, understated style, but still with a special twist in its “surprise” open back, which kept me cool and comfortable in the summer heat. The back ties are adjustable and it has an elastic waist too, for an extra forgiving fit. My rule for shopping wedding attire is always find pieces that are versatile and will have a longer lifespan than just one event; so I plan to wear this dress throughout the summertime and keep it casual by styling it with Birkenstocks or dress it up with heels. It’s currently on sale too!

I bought four pairs of classic Supergas in different colorways. When it’s 100 degrees Fahrenheit and 100% humidity, nobody will tell you these are inappropriate in any setting. The office, the beach, a wedding—you’re good.

I scooped up this one-piece suit on sale. I’ve been into maillot silhouettes this summer in particular because they function not just as your poolside ensemble but also as a top, making it effortless to go from one summer activity to the next (even working remotely!) I love this Jacquemus style because it leans into the cutout trend that we’ve been seeing everywhere without being overly seasonal. Its chic navy hue makes it feel timeless as well. The hero piece for my August vacation plans!

I also bought two sets of these flamingo embellished outdoor wine glasses for myself, my mom, my future sister-in-law, and her mom, to use for the holiday weekend. A little rain in the forecast can’t stop us from celebrating the engagement!

I spotted a friend of mine in this under $20 dress and immediately purchased it. It will definitely serve as a well-worn staple this summer! I also bought a ring from Valére and not only love it, but have received countless compliments.

I can’t quite get enough polished matching sets. From suiting to matching separates, it seems like month after month, sets are what I continue to invest in. And I know why: a sophisticated matching set is the ultimate lazy person style solution. I look and feel put together without even thinking about my outfit. To that end, I recently scooped up this Tove vest and pants set as this year’s take on a summer suit. How could you not fall in love with the crisp navy hue and cinched-at-the-waist jacket top?

I will try anything that has the potential to help me consume more water throughout the day. And for some reason, I am convinced I drink more when I use this specific reusable water bottle. It keeps my water ice cold and is easy to carry around—I can’t explain it but water from this bottle just hits differently.

I’m a sucker for a surrealist fashion moment, and nothing gets more surreal than this genius cookie handbag by Puppets and Puppets. It is literally the definition of a conversation-starting accessory. In fact, it’s almost impossible to keep people’s hands off this cookie, it just looks so real. But honestly, take it from me, you really can’t eat it, as delicious as it looks!

Reader’s Choice: JW Pei Bag

It’s rare that an “it” handbag comes around that’s as affordable as JW Pei’s purse. It was one of the best shopping finds for several of Vogue’s readers in June, plus, Hailey Bieber and Emily Ratajkowski also happen to be fans.
